Esports and Education: how to develop managerial skills in a playful environment

Video games help children develop a wide array of different skills, but gaming is only beneficial if it’s approached in the right way. The playful part needs to be inserted within an educational programme that includesphysical activitiesand raises awareness regarding therisks of a sedentary lifestyle.

During ourEsports Academy, created jointly by世界杯新西兰vs德国足彩赔率andH-FARM, students from14 to 16 years oldmade a deep dive into thegaming industry, going beyond solely the viewpoint of a professional player. They learned about the characteristics of games that rise to the level of being considered “esports”, they focused onesports historyand thedynamics of the maincompetitive games, while exploring the differentrolesof the esports ecosystemsuch as team manager, analyst, caster, and head coach.

Esports in Education: from skills to careers

Today, competitive video games offer players the possibility to create a professional career.In several countries, a football player or a “League of Legends”jungler在同样的方式被尊重，作为他们的(e)运动的顶级运动员。然而，职业选手只是冰山一角。在我们学院,frontal lessons were combined withteam-buildingexperiences to develop trust and group dynamics. Eye-hand coordination exercises were used to improve reaction time, multitasking and coordination but students had also the opportunity to develop theiranalysis,logical reasoning, andpublic speaking skills, all usingvideogames as didactic tools.

In conclusion, esports represent a very resourceful medium in the hands of teachers to engage students through technology. Beyond its entertaining aspect, fostering skills with Esports in Education opens the doors inspire promising careers.
